One day, while in prayer, I received a clear word from the Holy Spirit. A simple sentence, yet filled with depth:
“If you want to grow spiritually… have integrity, be simple, be humble.”
This word deeply moved me. In just a few words, the Holy Spirit gave me a path of growth — a solid foundation for any authentic spiritual life. Today, I want to share these three essential pillars that can transform your relationship with God.
Integrity is the alignment between our words, our thoughts, and our actions. It’s about being truthful, even when no one is watching. Integrity builds a stable foundation upon which God can construct something lasting.
🔍 Scripture:
“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” — Proverbs 11:3
An integrous person inspires trust, carries God’s light, and walks in peace. Without integrity, spiritual growth becomes unstable or even impossible.
We live in a world overwhelmed with complexity, pretenses, and ambition. Spiritual simplicity is about returning to the essentials: a pure heart, genuine intentions, and sincere faith.
🔍 Scriptures:
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8
“The simplicity of your devotion to Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 11:3 (paraphrased)
Simplicity shields our faith from distractions and false teachings. It preserves our relationship with God in purity and clarity.
Humility is not weakness — it’s the strength to recognize our dependence on God. It’s accepting that without Him, we can do nothing lasting. God raises those who willingly lower themselves before Him.
🔍 Scriptures:
“God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.” — James 4:6
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” — 1 Peter 5:6
Do you want God to lift you up? Start by getting down on your knees.
These three qualities — integrity, simplicity, and humility — are not just virtues; they are powerful spiritual tools. They build a life that is rooted, stable, and pleasing to God. The Holy Spirit isn’t calling us to be perfect, but to walk daily in sincerity and faith.
Lord, shape my heart. Teach me to be integrous in my choices, simple in my faith, and humble in my attitude. I want to grow spiritually, but I can’t do it without You. Enlighten me and guide my steps. Amen.
