Oh How Great is Your Faithfulness

Faithfulness is the attitude of respecting one’s commitments and keeping promises.

Daily, God is faithful to us. From our birth to this day, God’s (Elohim’s) faithfulness is constantly renewed for us. As Lamentations 3:22-23 says so well: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

To stay alive, many things must be available and respected, whether medically, socially, or otherwise. To breathe, medicine says we need oxygen, and God gives it to us freely every day.

Health, movement, the ability to eat to our fill, the means to take care of our family, and to help others are possible because God renews His faithfulness to us. He keeps the promise made in Matthew 6:30 to take care of us: “If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?”

In Matthew 28:20, He promised to always be with us, and He keeps His promise: “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We are exposed daily to accidents, illnesses, losses, and discouragements, but His presence in us and with us protects us from all these things.

He remains faithful to His commitment to forgive us. The Bible says in Psalm 130:3: “If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.” Imagine if our weaknesses and faults accumulated before God and His Holiness cried out for justice, what would our lives be like? But His faithfulness endures forever.

His numerous blessings in our lives day after day testify to His great faithfulness.

Prayer: We thank you infinitely, God of grace and faithfulness because you renew your commitment to take care of us daily. Our words are not enough to thank you for your faithfulness. Grant us the grace to be faithful to our commitments to you and others.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
