Le sermon sur la Montagne (Mathieu 5,6,7) Le sermon sur la Montagne (Mathieu 5,6,7)
Verse:
“So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:6-8
As Christians, we hope and are certain that the day will come when we will see Jesus face to face. It will be a moment of indescribable joy, fulfillment, and the realization of all God’s promises. This blessed anticipation is a source of comfort and encouragement as we navigate the challenges of this life.
The Bible assures us that we will not always walk by faith, but that we will see our Savior face to face one day. John writes in 1 John 3:2: “Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”
The Apostle Paul speaks confidently of this glorious future: “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21). This hope transforms our perspective on life and death. Death is no longer an end, but a door to eternal communion with Jesus. The church, the body of Christ, will finally be united with its heavenly Bridegroom.
Jesus promised that He would return to take us to be with Him: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:1-3).
Our stay on earth is temporary. We are pilgrims, awaiting this glorious encounter with Jesus. While we wait for that day, we must live in the light of this hope, remain faithful, and diligently work for the kingdom of God. Let us keep our eyes fixed on this promise: the day will come when we will see our Lord face to face, and we will forever be in our heavenly home.
Lord Jesus, thank You for the promise of Your return and our reunion with You. Help us to live each day in the light of this hope, to remain faithful, and to serve You with joy. We eagerly await the day when we will see You face to face and be finally home with You for eternity. Amen.
