Le sermon sur la Montagne (Mathieu 5,6,7) Le sermon sur la Montagne (Mathieu 5,6,7)
Verse: Isaiah 42:8: “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.”
Reflection:
A young graduate, desperate to find a job, spends hours praying for God’s favor. Not a day goes by without him reading his Bible and making vows to God. Days pass, and God answers his prayer; he finds his dream job.
However, he soon stops attending Sunday services. He no longer has time and dedicates all his time to his new career, which is not inherently bad.
But God, wanting to save him from loss, warns him to return to his first love. Whatever privileges we enjoy on earth come from God, and He always deserves the first place in our lives.
You and I sometimes replace God’s place with a job, a spouse, a new opportunity, or a child. When we do this, we automatically become unfaithful, and God can no longer count on us.
That is why, when He warns us, we must strive to please Him. As the Holy Scriptures say, our God is a jealous God. When we love, we avoid causing the other to suffer; we remain faithful, and this is the same love we must show to our Lord Jesus Christ.
We urge you not to make our great love, our Lord and Savior suffer, for without Him, we can do nothing.
Prayer:
Lord, many times I have been unfaithful. After this meditation, I recognize and become aware of my unfaithfulness, and I pray that you rid me of this evil. In the name of Jesus Christ, I offer this prayer.
