Le sermon sur la Montagne (Mathieu 5,6,7) Le sermon sur la Montagne (Mathieu 5,6,7)
The god of this age has blinded many people so that they cannot see the beauty of the Gospel. If you are among those who have felt drawn to the Father, remember to thank Him every day for this grace.
Reflection: Many do not perceive the importance or meaning of the Gospel because they are blind, as 2 Corinthians 4:4 highlights. This verse states that “the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ.” It reminds us of the necessity of divine light to open hearts and minds to this truth.
Some may be blinded by spiritual forces that prevent them from grasping the truth of the Gospel. This can be seen as a curse, and those who mock the things of the Gospel often do so because they have not yet encountered Christ in their lives. A personal encounter with Christ can transform hearts and open eyes to the beauty and depth of the Gospel message. This is why prayer and testimony are so important in helping others discover this light.
Many people on the path of perdition do not see the beauty of the Gospel. They need the Father’s drawing to come closer to Him. No one can come to God by their means, for it is God who stirs this attraction in the hearts of individuals. John 6:44 tells us: “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them at the last day.” This is a spiritual process that requires divine grace, reminding us of the importance of praying for those who do not yet know Christ, so they may feel this drawing and be touched by His love. Philippians 2:13 says: “For it is God who works in you to will and to act to fulfill his good purpose.”
Some people may indeed harden their hearts to the point of never receiving the Father’s drawing, even until their last breath. The Bible speaks of this phenomenon of hardening of the heart, which prevents some from recognizing God’s truth and grace. This underscores the importance of not taking lightly the time we have to respond to the divine call and encourage others to open up to this truth. It is a call to pray for those who are far away, so they may be touched by God’s love and mercy before it is too late.
Rejoice every morning, for you are servants of God, and your names are written in the Book of Life. Even if you face difficulties on this earth, keep your faith and joy, for your identity in Christ assures you of eternal hope. Each day is a new opportunity to live in gratitude and to testify of God’s love, regardless of the circumstances. Be encouraged and continue to walk in the light of His promise!
Prayer
Lord, thank You for choosing me and drawing my heart to You. Thank You for working in us to will and to act according to Your good pleasure. You are truly wonderful, and I give thanks for Your grace and love in my life. May my entire life be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness. Amen
